Find and export
your Egnyte data.

Egnyte's Folder Size Report distinguishes current-file storage from the size of retained versions. That helps describe both the visible document collection and its history.

Find your Egnyte data size

  1. Sign in to Egnyte as an administrator or a user allowed to run reports.
  2. Open Reports → Dashboard → Storage for the domain storage overview.
  3. In Storage Reports, run a Folder Size Report for the folders in scope.
  4. Record Files Total Size (GB) and the file count. Note the all-versions size separately.
The report contains nested-folder totals. Avoid adding a parent folder and its descendants again when calculating the overall volume.

What to include in your data inventory

Report current-file storage in GB, identifying the folders included. Add the all-versions figure if earlier edits are available and relevant.

Include file counts, the oldest retained material and the number of licensed users. Describe the principal file types in the folders.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your Egnyte history

  1. For a large collection, connect the Egnyte Desktop App and make the agreed folders available offline, or copy them from the mounted drive.
  2. For a smaller set, select folders in the web interface and choose Download.
  3. Review the download options for subfolders and file versions, then collect the ZIP archives.
  4. Check that the local files match the selected folder scope and keep their paths together.

Web ZIP downloads have size and item limits. Use the desktop route or smaller batches when a collection exceeds them.

Current-file copies and all-version downloads cover different material. State which one you collected.

Why Egnyte data has value for AI training

Egnyte can preserve technical files and operational documents organized by project or client. That structure supplies context for the contents.

File versions can show how drawings, analyses or procedures changed during the work.

What stays private

Choose the shared and private folders to include, along with the required version depth.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
