Customer support

Find and export
your Freshdesk data.

Freshdesk provides ticket-list and account-level export routes with different scopes. Check the retained date range and actual conversation coverage before using a list as the full support history.

Find your Freshdesk data size

  1. Use administrator-level visibility over the tickets in scope.
  2. Ask a developer to query the Filter Tickets API for defined creation-date ranges and read its total.
  3. Use non-overlapping ranges when adding the periods together.
  4. Check the default date range of a ticket-list request before using its result as an all-time count.
A default ticket listing can cover only a recent period. Confirm both dates and agent visibility.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in records, with ticket count, dates and support groups covered. Describe replies, private notes, solution articles and attachments.

Give the earliest retained ticket date and the agents represented. Label an approximate count and its method.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your Freshdesk history

  1. Use the Account Administrator role.
  2. Open Admin → Account → Account Details → Export data where available.
  3. Request the export and download the compressed account file from the completion email.
  4. Check ticket content and attached-file coverage; use the ticket conversations API when a separate conversation extraction is needed.

The account-export route provides XML. A developer can inspect or convert it while preserving the ticket relationships.

Confirm current plan entitlement with Freshdesk support if the account-export option is absent.

Why Freshdesk data has value for AI training

Ticket replies can show how an agent diagnoses a problem and explains a solution.

Linked knowledge-base articles can add context about the guidance used during that exchange.

What stays private

Choose tickets and articles in scope, reviewing private notes, customer details and sensitive attachments.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
