Find and export
your Shopify data.

Shopify exports can contain several lines per order. Count unique orders and describe products, customers and other business records separately from the line-item rows.

Find your Shopify data size

  1. Use the store owner or a staff account with the required report access.
  2. Open Analytics → Reports and select an order-count report across the full retained dates.
  3. Cross-check through Orders → Export, choosing the agreed date range.
  4. Count unique order IDs or numbers in the CSV rather than all item rows.
Shopify adds separate CSV lines for additional items in an order. A row count can exceed the order count.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in records, with orders, customers and products identified separately. Describe line items, transaction history and product media.

Give the oldest retained order date, store scope and staff users represented.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your Shopify history

  1. In Orders, use Export → Orders by date and download all completed files.
  2. Collect transaction histories separately when required.
  3. Export the agreed Customers and Products collections from their corresponding areas.
  4. Download product images and other required files separately, or review the GraphQL Admin API bulk route with a developer.

CSV exports represent the selected fields and dates. Product image references are separate from the actual media.

API access to older orders needs its scope checked. Keep order, product and customer identifiers together.

Why Shopify data has value for AI training

Orders can connect products and customer choices with fulfillment and payment events.

Catalog and support context can add examples of the operational work around an ecommerce purchase.

What stays private

Choose stores, records and fields in scope, reviewing customer identifiers and payment information separately.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
