Find your monday.com data size

  1. Sign in as an account admin and open Administration.
  2. Go to General → Account → Export account data.
  3. Request the export and download the archive from the completion email.
  4. Count board-item rows, keeping board scope and subitems identified.
The account export excludes archived boards and workdocs according to monday.com's documentation. Its count can therefore be narrower than the full account history.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in records, with item and board counts identified. Describe updates, attached files and any separately exported workdocs.

Give the earliest retained item dates and the users represented. State archived content excluded from the figure.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your monday.com history

  1. Open Administration → General → Account → Export account data.
  2. Keep files included when they are required, then start the export.
  3. Download the ZIP within 24 hours of receiving its email link.
  4. Arrange separate exports for relevant workdocs and archived material supported by the account.

The account export can run once every 24 hours and notifies account admins.

Check the archive against the boards and files expected. A single-board Excel export is another route for a defined subset.
