Find and export
your TikTok data.

TikTok's information download provides account records in supported text formats. Original video files should be inventoried separately rather than assumed to be included in that request.

Find your TikTok data size

  1. Sign in to the business account and open Profile.
  2. Count the posted videos in scope and note the earliest retained post date.
  3. List the original company video files and any other footage retained outside TikTok.
  4. Measure those files in GB if available, alongside the file count.
Distinguish posted videos, original footage and the account-information archive. They are different collections.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in files, giving video quantities, dates and account scope. Add measured storage and duration where available.

Describe captions and account records separately, identifying any original footage that extends beyond the posts.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your TikTok history

  1. In the app, open Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
  2. Select the required information and JSON or TXT format, then submit the request.
  3. Use Download data to check status and retrieve the completed file before expiry.
  4. Collect original company footage from the devices or storage where it was saved.

The documented data request is an account-information download. Confirm actual media contents and retain separate originals.

Some recent records or information affecting others' privacy can be absent from the archive. Check its scope.

Why TikTok data has value for AI training

Owned videos can document practical demonstrations and business activities.

Captions and post context can connect the visual material with the subject being explained.

What stays private

Select company-owned media and records, reviewing third-party music, identifiable people and private interactions.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
