Find and export
your YouTube data.

YouTube Studio identifies the company's uploaded videos. Google Takeout can collect the account's uploaded-video data, with ownership and Brand Account selection checked first.

Find your YouTube data size

  1. Sign in with the account that owns the business channel.
  2. Switch to the relevant Brand Account where applicable.
  3. Open YouTube Studio → Content and record the uploads in scope.
  4. Request the supported Takeout export and measure the resulting video collection in GB.
The collection should cover videos the business owns or can license. Public availability alone does not establish those rights.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in GB, with video count, total duration where available and channel scope. Describe captions and other accompanying material.

Give the earliest included uploads and identify original company files retained outside YouTube.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your YouTube history

  1. Open Google Takeout using the correct account or Brand Account.
  2. Select YouTube with the required uploaded videos and create the archive.
  3. Download every part before expiry and inspect formats and resolution.
  4. Collect original company source files and captions separately where they add material beyond the platform export.

Studio's individual downloads and Takeout can provide different representations. Compare the formats with the original company archive.

Keep channel and upload identifiers with the videos, especially when several channels contribute.

Why YouTube data has value for AI training

Company videos can preserve demonstrations, technical explanations and examples of work being performed.

Captions and upload context can connect the spoken content to the products or processes shown.

What stays private

Choose owned uploads in scope, reviewing music, third-party footage, contributors and client permissions.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
