Find your ADP data size

  1. Identify whether the company uses RUN Powered by ADP, Workforce Now or another ADP product.
  2. In RUN, open Reports → Custom Reports and create an employee or contractor profile report.
  3. Create a separate Payroll Transaction data report and widen the default check-date filter to the required history.
  4. Run and view the full report, then count its records. In Workforce Now, use the appropriate Reports & Analytics reports.
The RUN builder preview shows a small sample. Count the executed full report, and distinguish payroll runs from employee-level transaction entries.

What to include in your data inventory

Report in records, naming employee, contractor, payroll and time quantities separately. Identify the ADP product and entities covered.

Give the earliest retained pay periods and status scope, including former staff where available. Use counts and field descriptions for the initial inventory.

Add the dates covered and the people who use this software. Label estimates and describe how you calculated them.

Export your ADP history

  1. Run each agreed employee and payroll report over the full required dates.
  2. In RUN, use View Online and the CSV or Excel export controls.
  3. In Workforce Now, export the appropriate report to Excel using its supported controls.
  4. Keep report definitions and period ranges with the files, confirming any additional document collection separately.

Report type controls the fields available. Profile data and payroll transactions may require separate reports.

Access and historical coverage depend on the actual product, role and company setup.

Why ADP data has value for AI training

De-identified payroll records can describe repeated administrative workflows and changes in workforce activity.

Clear pay-period and employee-record definitions make those sequences understandable.

What stays private

Share counts and descriptions for the inventory. Agree sensitive-field handling before delivering personnel or payroll details.

Telegraph Lab reviews the proposed material with you and agrees how sensitive information will be handled. Preparation can include excluding material, redacting details and replacing personal identifiers. Your company keeps ownership; the licensing agreement defines the material, permitted uses and authorized recipients.
